The Global Coalition for Social Protection Floors (GCSPF) and several members participated in the Preparatory Process for the Summit of the Future (SotF). The consultations, responding to the second revision (Rev2) of the Pact for the Future released on 17 July 2024, took place the last week of July.

The Statement (download pdf version) submitted by the GCSPF at the consultation Engagement of Major Groups and other Stakeholders and Civil Society was held on 31 July 2024.

The objective of these consultations was to provide the opportunity for all stakeholders to share their
reactions and views on the Rev. 2 of the Pact with Member States for the final intergovernmental
negotiations.

The consultations were hosted by the co-facilitators of the preparatory process of the Summit of the Future, H.E. Ms. Antje Leendertse, Permanent Representative of Germany to the United Nations and H.E. Mr. Neville Gertze, Permanent Representative of Namibia to the United Nations.

The Summit of the Future that will take place on 22-23 September 2024 is a crucial opportunity to forge a new global consensus on what our future should look like and take concrete steps to respond to emerging challenges and opportunities. The action-oriented outcome document of the Summit, the Pact for the Future, is still being negotiated and revised.
